Loved hearing all these book recommendations. I read The Honey Witch recently and absolutely loved it!
❤
We have an apothecary garden here at cottage in Wales. There is something so cosy and ancient about picking wild plants from our garden or from the countryside, and turning them into food or medicine. thank you for such a lovely video
Regrettably, I am About to Cause Trouble Amie McNee
Your videos are always so amazing!!! Your kitchen, your home, your landscape, your info are all perfect. Thank you so much for sharing. I look forward to seeing them. Thank you again
Love the rabbit and lavender but they are all so pretty!
As a 20 year plus practitioner initially Gardenerian path over the years slowly moved away to find a path that would sit more comfortably started towards Hedge witch/ Green witch becoming eclectic but still wanting more. Connection to Nature and more personal to me .discovered your site and the info you give is excellent ❤
The Stonewylde series is excellent! The late Kit Berry was a great storyteller and human being. Highly recommend.
I can relate so much!! I dislike this feeling of always feeling like I’m in a rush, and when we procrastinate on social media or something you don’t even feel relaxed. So much to think about thank you for sharing ❤🐚🪹🥰
Sounds great & I’m definitely interested 💚
I love Roger J Horne’s book! Really great starting point for folk Witchcraft as someone who isn’t a beginner still got a lot of knowledge out of it.
Not just all living things - but *all things* have this lifeforce. 🐦⬛🐣🦌🍃🪨⛰️💪🏻☁️🌊
Thanks for all the recs. Also. The Once and Future Witches by Alix E Harrow! I have been recommending this book ever since I've read it. It's become one of my favorite books altogether, no matter the genre. It's a historical fantasy about three sisters set in New Salem, MA where magic is real, Old Salem was "infested" with witches and that witching in no longer allowed. More serious, but not super sad (although that might depend on personal preference because the ending can be a bit... intense, but again, not in a bad way). The characters are wonderful and there are several themes that are worked into it well.
I love finding people who love the Green Man as much as I do lol <3
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Hi from a Hindu 👋
I could listen to you talk about books all day! Great video! I loved Circe! I was happy to see your recommendation for the Honey Witch, i have that one on my To Get list. Most wanted from your list, the one that intrigues me, is the Bear and the Nightingale. It sounds so different than anything I've ever read and I know nothing about Russian folklore so im adding that to my list. Thanks for the extensive list!
Very informative, thanks
Gorgeous
did you have another channel years back?
No it's the same one, I privated a lot of videos though as it wasn't the kind of stuff I wanted to post anymore
Delightful to listen to you Dear sister May the oak shade your way
I'm so impressed with your reading list! Thanks for the suggestions, I wrote them all down. If you haven/t read it already, I would also recommend the Lost Apothecary. x
Nice video. I love how the castle's interiors are full of objects with intricate details. It looks rustic because of the naturalness of the aged objects. It takes us back in time. It's a nice place to relax. I am not surprised that you chose to visit it.
Thanks!
Thank you SO much Sheilla! <3
The lovely woods The morning Zephyr Sweet goddess The elven wood Her golden glow Soft mosses for rest Could be vermont Earth magic awake Nibble some caps Curling together for Naps Our star acting up Magnetic touch A weasel a martin A hare to care Our totems for sure Earths creatures so pure Thank you dear witch ..allways welcome Over here on turtle Island the greenmountains Sweet blog Sweet ness Ah but to touch the earth Her precious earth In peace
listening to your "mumble" is so calming and interesting. Thank you <3
I just started The Winter of the Witch the other night. 😭 Ahh! I'm feelin' so into the Slavic magic right now, so I can't wait to check out Where the Dark Stands Still. Thanks for all the recommendations! Uprooted sounds kind of contrived >_> Would that be the word?
🌻🌻🌻
❤😊 thanks for sharing
Have you read the Tiffany Aching books by Terry Pratchett? The Wee Free Men, Wintersmith and I Shall Wear Midnight.
Harry Potter 😮
I really tried to push through with Uprooted...I got to about 70% through and just gave up on the last part! I absolutely loved The Witches of Vardo and Weyward though :)
Thank you forthe Wonderful book recommendations 😊I am loving, The Gathering:Wilde Grove Book 1 bye, Katherine Genet💖💖
I don't know if you’ve ever read the trilogy "his dark materials" by Phillip Pullman, but I love that trilogy, the first book, the northern lights is what the film the golden compass was based on
I love those books 🖤
@@Lunaleodrune yay, I'm glad you do, blessed be
I cried so much reading those books, I was a mess for a week after I finished the last one. I've read them a few times and it's the same every time.
I’ll have to check out “In the company of witches”. One of my fav’s of all time is “In the company of Ogres”. Kinda guy humorish but hilarious with a lot of cultural undertones.
The hebrew for oak tree is alon which come from El the main deity of canaanite pantheon and ela literally meant godess is for pistachio tree which accompany the oak tree frequently in Mediterranean forest.
How old are you ?
Uh yes this is my favorite genre!! 😊😊 Do you maybe have recommendations for stories about medieval Ireland/Scotland/England/Wales, with a bit of magic/and or romance and mythical creatures/folklore? With a lot of beautiful nature descriptions, ruins, fairies? 😅
Juliet Marillier will answer all of your prayers! 😅 The Sevenwaters series, The Warrior Bard trilogy, Shadowfell, Heart’s Blood (my favourite), Blackthorn and Grim and many more 🖤
@@Lunaleodrune Thank you so much!!!! Will definitely ceck this out
I loved Alice Hoffman's magic series (but I agree with you about Practical Magic. BTW, they are coming out with a sequel to the movie!) I recently read Dovekeepers which is just amazing - I really hope you will read that one. Apparently there's also a YA novel by Hoffman called Green Witch, too, but I've never read it.
Do you have any recommendations for historical fiction set in the British Isles? I recently got into "Hild" by Nicola Griffith and I fell in love with it. Now I'm looking for similar books. I loved the video ❤
I have heard good things about Lucy Holland’s books! And Juliet Marillier has some set in the British Isles. Just added Hild to my list!
Thank you 😊@@Lunaleodrune
thank you for sharing ! i’m so grateful to have stumbled upon your channel as ive been in a bit of a slump with my craft lately , however , i visited a herb garden yesterday and it was incredibly calming , nature truly is the best medicine , i adore how comforting your energy is ! <3
It's been the same down in Devon. I'm currently sat here with porridge for breakfast lol. I personally loved The Ex Hex, I thought that was hilarious. And, thought not necessarily magic and witches, the Blood Wine series by Freda Warrington is fantastic. Many of these have been added to my goodreads so thank you <3
OMG Irish folklore!! ❤
one of my favourites is Emily Wilde’s encyclopaedia of Faeries by Heather Fawcett - I just love the modern take on things Fey and, of course, there is a tantalising romance bubbling away in the background
I'm currently reading Witches of Vardo and personally really enjoying it! I was wondering if you had read it as I noticed you had bought it from a vlog you did! It's gritty but very well written!
Some great books, & a few to add to my lists!🥰 When you were talking about being interested in Slavic mythology and folklore, I couldn't stop thinking about recommending Deathless (by Catherynne M Valente).. A kind of alternate take on Russian history through a magical lens, some beautiful, sometimes dark, but absolutely enchanting creatures and scenes which definitely stay with you. Also, on Uprooted, if you haven't already, I'd definitely recommend Spinning Silver also by Naomi Novik! I read this one first, and found it so much more enthralling with it's swirling snow and mystery, where I was later disappointed, like you, in Uprooted, which felt a little fanfiction-y!
Thanks, I’ve added they to my list! I read Spinning Silver as well and enjoyed it a lot more though it still wasn’t a five star for me :)
Check out Her Majesty's Royal Coven by Juno Dawson. It's the first book of a trilogy by the same name. It's about a coven of witches who work for the government. Originally founded by Ann Boleyn.
I second this recommendation, I’m on the second one now, the shadows cabinet. It’s excellent 👍
@@joleneharwood8493 the prequel should be out in a couple of weeks.
Thank you for such a great video of recommendations. 💜 I absolutely agree with you about Weyward as that bothered me as well. I personally wasn't too much of a fan of the 'Heartbreak and Magic' book, but that's just me and I hope you can enjoy it for yourself when you get the chance to indulge in it. 💜I definitely want to read 'The Honey Witch' now, so thank you for the recommendation. xx 💜
You are stunning. 🥰 And you live in actual fairy land. Wow!
